Vicinity Studios IMS was created for a local video production company.

The IMS had to be easy and quick to use, while facilitating an effective logging system to ensure that it was as easy and quick to use as possible. The system system prioritised speed of checking in/out equipment as compared to security, as requested by the client.

As such, a simple barcode scanner is used, for both identification of users and items. The process has been simplified to two steps
User scans personal barcode, followed by the items they want to check in/out

Items scanned will alternate between checking in/out and the user will get a feedback via the screen. While having all interactions logged down on a separate admin page.

The previous solution comprised of a manual log by hand into an excel sheet. This IMS solution has halved the time taken to check in and out devices.
